Pittsburgh Pirate's McKechnie Field

Bradenton, Florida

McKechnie Field is the Spring Training Facility for the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Club. Early in 2012, Bradenton and Manatee County officials collaborated with the Pirates and Major League Baseball to make a $9.7 million investment to create “fan-friendly” renovations to the ballpark. Key elements included the addition of a 19,000 sf elevated boardwalk circumnavigating the entire outfield fence and featuring a “Kona Bar”, food stations, toilet rooms, catering kitchen, etc. and also providing access to the additional 2000 outfield bleacher seats. A large ground level plaza behind first base provides an additional festival area and Corporate and group gathering spaces are also available to rent throughout the park. Relocated bull pins, agility fields and batting cages are now visible for fan viewing
